A first time viewing for Seb and Robbie we look at its status as a slasher, as a dark comedy and how it's low budget makes it feel like soap Eastenders meets Killer clowns from outer space but both with more gore.

Episode 138 - High Tension (2003) - Summer Slasher Season

Summer Slasher Season reaches the early noughties with 2003's Haute Tension (High Tension) or for those that prefer more on the nose titles Switchblade Romance. 
We discuss this controversial French horror thriller that is often cited for it's divisive twist that many believe ruins a fantastic suspense filled modern slasher. The CMTH Boys come in to talk about the film and twist offering reasons for and against it's divisive structure. We discuss the incredible practical effects, music and as the name implies tension of the film including its status as a New Extremist horror film alongside films like Hostel and A Serbian Film.

Episode 136 - I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997) - Summer Slasher Season

We continue Summer Slasher Season with the most obvious choice for a Summer Slasher and a modern horror classic - I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997). 
We discuss the impact of writer Kevin Williamson in 90's slashers, the sequels spawned and the more thriller aspect of this modern teen slasher. We also return to a point raised previously in Cast Me To Hell lore, Is Jennifer Love Hewitt a good scream queen or should Sarah Michelle Gellar of been the lead of this hooking horror. 
So gather the best looking horror cast of the 90's, bring along a bottle of Jack, don't forgot to possibly kill a pedestrian on the way and you have the plot for a horror thriller that let's be honest you didn't pay full attention to because that cast was just too hot back then.

Episode 135 - Sleepaway Camp (1983) - Summer Slasher Season

We are back and hitting one of the biggest and most controversial hit in horror or in all of film. We begin our Summer Slasher Season with the cult classic Sleepaway Camp (1983). Following our discussion of Summer Slashers (If you did check out that episode, go back and listen!) we delve into a season of slasher films released, set in or enjoyed during the summer time. 
We discuss the controversies of Sleepaway Camp, the strange foreign horror influences and the forgotten director who wasn't even told his film had become such a cult classic to many. Of course we also talk about the twist and its impact at the time and in modern day.
